![]() ![]() I found in DOCS ( was before in KC ) following statement: " A list of virtual serial numbers is activated in the POWER® Hypervisor by using a Capacity on Demand (CoD) code that is provided by IBM® ", source: Assigning the virtual serial number to a logical partition There is a new function available: virtual serial number (VSN ) since V9R2M950 and FW950 at P9. I'm going to describe it on my blog Bart, for me it looks some team delivered a functionality without general coordination. I also complained it is frustrating that a new feature pops ups, asking for CoD code, but you can't get it. IMHO, technically it is ready to be used, but there are missing all legal agreements which will be affected by this "feature". According to the discussion with IBM developers (Rochester), this function will not be possible to use on POWER9.Very likely it should be allowed on P10. ![]() I went thru this topic couple of months ago. ![]() Subject: new function virtual serial number ![]()
